Pierre Deux French Country Red Toile de Jouy Christmas Tree Skirt Hand Made
Pierre Deux French Country red and ivory Toile de Jouy double sided Christmas tree skirt. Hand made 48.5 skirt is trimmed and backed with a complementary striped print and made of 100 percent cotton. Burgundy red and ivory make up this classical yet fanciful print that features a cherub getting a spanking at the hands of a goddess. Probably dates to the 1980s or 1990s but could be early 2000s.
Outstanding quality as you would expect from Pierre Deux. Cotton is slightly nubby, almost feels like linen. The tree skirt has stiffener between the layers so it can be folded to a point but it will take up a bit of room in storage. There is no tie or closure, but the weight and stiffness of the skirt should keep it anchored in place.
Measurements: Full diameter measures 48.5. From the outer edge to the closest edge of the opening for the tree, it measures 23. This size of tree skirt is generally recommended for a 7.5' tree.Condition: Very good pre-owned condition. I noted a mustard yellow stain (about 1/2 wide) near the bias tape on the opening (see Photo 9). It's not very noticeable and would also be hidden if the opposite side overlaps it. Stored in a non-smoking home.
