Simply the most gorgeous early quilt made into a skirt. It is a perfect circle that would lie down around the base of a Christmas tree. Hangs beautifully from a peg rack when not using as a tree skirt.
It is 35 inches from center to hem. It is totally hand embroidered in Feather stitching. The colors are rich and festive. The photos don't do it justice. Only a few worn spots, look at photos.
There is a zipper and hook and eye at the center. The quilt pieces were sewn together on a treadle machine.Could be worn as a skirt. The quilt pieces are backed in wonderful early cottons of various colors, some lovely browns and reds. I collect early quilts and never saw anything this lovely. It is a real treasure for those of us that value early textiles. The item "Rare Antique Primitive 1800's Festive Quilt made into Christmas Tree Skirt" is in sale since Thursday, December 5, 2019.
